ART CONTEST FOR 2011 TASTE OF DESOTO

ART CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES

Eligibility:

Requirements:

Statement of originality from the artist must be submitted.
The artist agrees to sign and number all prints.
The artist agrees that reproduction of art can be used on all publicity pertaining to Taste of DeSoto event, i.e., Save the Date cards, event posters, tickets, print advertising and event program.
The artist agrees to donate original art to the Taste of DeSoto to be sold at the Taste of DeSoto Auction.

What kind of art is eligible?

Print media, i.e., oils, acrylics, watercolor.
Entries can be any media that can be reproduced proportionately to a print size of 8” X 10” (maximum size of entry is 48”).

Contest deadline and submission:

The completed Entry Form is to be submitted with original art no later than noon on December 30, 2010 to Tim Mote Plumbing at 5925 Scott Blvd, Horn Lake MS 38637.

How your entry will be judged:

Entry will be judged by the Taste of DeSoto Committee and Owners/General Managers of Taste of DeSoto participating restaurants.
Entry will be judged on ability to clearly and creatively communicate the culinary theme.
Entry needs to be picked up at Tim Mote Plumbing the afternoons of January 18 through January 21, 2011. If you cannot pick up your artwork on these dates, please call Janet Mote at 901-486-8093 to make arrangements for a later pick-up date.

Winning Entry:

Winning entry will be notified no later than January 17, 2011.
Artist will receive a cash prize of $250.
Artist will receive pre and post event publicity as the winning art will identify the event throughout the community.
A signed and numbered print will be presented to event sponsors and participating restaurants for display in their establishments.
Original art will be auctioned at event to an estimated attendance of approximately 1,000.
